A Navigation Publication	The Pendle Witches Way was devised by myself, Phil Bedson, during the early part of 2011 as a four day challenge walk for my local walking group to undertake during 2012. I became aware of the forthcoming 400th Anniversary of The Pendle Witch Trials and set out to discover where the main events took place and see if they could be linked to form a trail. It is often said that everyone has a book within them which is how this publication came about. For a long time I had harboured various ideas for a walking book of some kind and, as the route planning became more advanced, it became clear that this was my chance to write it down and publish it as a booklet. I live in Accrington, Lancashire, with my wife and children and enjoy walking in the area immensely. For 20 years I have been an active member of Hyndburn Ramblers and as such have covered lots of miles on foot. Pendle Hill is one of my favourite places to walk and I love leading Group walks over the hill and through the areas concerned within this guide. This guide is designed to be just that, a guide, but I have included snippets of facts about various places and hopefully you will read enough to pique your interest not only about the Pendle Witches but also about Lancashire – its folklore and history, people and places. So I leave you to traverse the Forests of Pendle and Bowland like those unfortunate men and women did 400 years ago and after completing the walk it is hoped you will be left spellbound.
